Timeline

Shadows Release

The Trudope: Shadows project will officially launch in Q1 of 2024. The first collection being distributed will be the Windigo collection and will be followed by others shortly thereafter.
Expandable Content

By the end of Q1 2024, the expandable content will be released for the holders to start adding. This will allow the holders to add text and images to their NFTs and will display them in our site. The intent is to grow a central hub of data of all things Cryptid.
Eary Adopter Subscription

As part of the initial release, we will be holding an early adopter sale for a lifetime subscription pass! You're going to need to watch for this as the quantity is going to be limited to 250! These early adopters will have access into all of the content for life! Check our docs for further details on all the perks.
Paid Subscription

As content is added, we will evaluate how soon we can turn on the paid subscription. We want to ensure adequate value for both our holders and the subscribers. In additional to this, only certain tiers of subscriptions will be available until further collections are released.
Giving Back

Our Giving Back campaign is going to focus on providing funding to our holders as well as giving back to various charitable organizations. We will be establishing a fund that will have full transparency as to who is determining where the money is going and how much.

Deep in the dark grip of winter lives a legend of a creature so fearsome that the tribes that first told it's tale dared not speak it's name. Within the hunger and desperate need to cling to your tribe to survive was born the first hushed stories of a monster. Daring to step out on your own, whether in pride or self-serving greed would leave you vulnerable to a devouring beast that shared man's insatiable need to consume. We can't imagine the fear that inspired the birth of this story, this creature. The Windigo.

Did it's gruesome start begin as a fable, to keep children close? To encourage shared resources and closing of ranks with a community that's survival depended on it? Or are the tales of a hunter so desperate to eat that he fell upon his companion and ate him, transforming him at a soul level to a depraved creature true? Does it even matter?

The first stories tell of a tall humanoid, white skin stretched too tight over ragged bones. Lips chewed off in hunger, willing to consume even itself to survive. With razor like claws and teeth, and a smell of death clinging to its terrible body. A body housing a heart made of impenetrable ice, that only fire could stop from beating. A Jesuit priest was the first to mention it in any official writing in the 1700s, referencing back to a creature back home. A creature not unlike the wendigo. The werewolf.

The shape-shifting idea further took on a life of its own when the image people saw in the forest changed in the last 50 years. Now the stories tell of a stag like creature with human characteristics, seemingly thanks to popular pop culture. They don't seem to care what they appear as so much as that they can appear if they are given enough energy to do so. Flickering lights, darting back and forth through the trees, lend to the thought of it gathering energy to manifest itself and should be taken as a warning to get out while you still can. This energy seems to be given in the form of storms, other times though human fear seems more than enough power for them to be able to take full form.

They are the reason you don't whistle at night, not only having human like appearance, they also have the cunning and mimicry of an intelligent being. They are said to call out, beckoning dogs and people alike further into the treeline. Static, laughter, voices of loved ones, even long passed, whispers and the sound of running are often reported when there is sighting. Even if you don't smell or hear them, they say a deep feeling of uneasiness and dread accompany their presence as well.

Dread is a fair assessment, not only for encountering such a nightmare but also for the lost soul inside. Cursed to forever consume and grow with its feeds, never satisfied, never at peace. Equipped with terrible strength, and speed to match its desperation, it is truly a legend we hope to God is just that and nothing more. But creditable sightings from not only civilians but even police officers in the recent years suggest that just maybe local lore is true when they say...

"If you hear your name in the forest at night... No. You didn't."

The majority of items being flagged are within the Plausible range of the scale. Followed by Hoax and then Verifiable elements of this entity comes in last. As of now, based on the content, the Windigo is getting a plausible rating. With that being said, it's at the higher side of the spectrum and runs the risk of crossing into being classified as a hoax.

The team at Trudope has done extensive research into various Cryptid creatures and have put together the lore content and the images. Any further documentation or images that are added by the holders of the NFTs is solely the views and/or experiences of that holder. We intend on selecting some of the the content to run our verification checks against to further help determine the validiity of the claims being stated.

Sale

The NFT contract is allowing for a total of 2,000 variants to be minted. Within the collection of 2,000, each of the images provided with be it's own 1:1 unique. The benefit of using AI art for this collection allows for complete variability and uniqueness of the collection.

Whitelist: There will be 500 whitelist spots up for grabs! Those who are whitelisted will be given a 2 hour advance on purchasing NFT's and the limit will be capped at 500 NFT's purchased within that timeframe. Anything above the 500 will have the standard cost applied to them.

Standard: After the 2 hour whitelist window, all remaining NFTs will be sold for the standard pricing. This includes any of the 500 whitelist NFTs that didn't sell during the whitelist timeframe.
